The School of Visual Anthropology 2024 workshop will last 11 days and will be subdivided in three major parts: theory, field work and editing. Aside from the necessary knowledge and technology we provide homey accommodation and two meals per day. VAC successfully organized the School of Visual Anthropology workshop five years consecutively for chiefly Serbian participants; more than 100 people participated with the help of 30 lecturers and mentors. In 2018 we opened for the first time to international applicants and it was the best choice we'd ever made. Local scholars had new impulse, foreigners saw a new environment - it was inspirational for all of us. The following year we managed to host even more participants with an even richer program. This year we set ourselves a new goal - for our whole initiative to be global. Not just the school of course - but a network of socially engaged filmmakers sharing what they've got for their work to find its audiences and have the desired impact.

Solidarity price 1000 €
Full price 850 €
Reduced price 700 €
VAC is very keen on being completely transparent about our finances -we will be producing a film with you as colleagues after all. The compensations of all lecturers, all participants living costs and the production costs of the film that will be shot during the workshop are entirely covered by the workshop's price. According to our calculations the average cost of one participant is approximately 850 euros. This is a rather prohibitive price for many people in the Balkans and in Eastern Europe, therefore - since we really wish to have a diverse group in all aspects - we have set the full price to 1000 euros. By contributing that much to the workshop you will allow us to have a small scholarship fund that will be distributed equally amongst those applicants who cannot afford the full price. Thus, the reduced price is 700 euros - we are able to provide this price only if we manage to collect a scholarship fund. Don't worry - this doesn't entirely depend on your contributions - we are in contact with potential non-commercial donors who could help us offer you the workshop at the reduced price.
